Numa casa de praia está reunido um grupo de artistas de teatro: Neila, atriz erótica, acompanhada de Amaro, economista e seu amante; Letícia, com problemas de frigidez sexual; Ana, cuja amante, Sandra, se sente culpada com a relação amorosa; e Fábio, homossexual com pretensões a bailarino, à espera de Renato, seu amante. Três presidiários recém-foragidos seqüestram Renato, diretor do grupo teatral, e ocupam a casa de praia, à espera de um barco que ali ancorará e os levará para fora do país. Tércio, um dos bandidos, ex-guerrilheiro com remorsos pelo fracasso de uma ação política, é culto e sensível. Paulão e Jorge eram presos comuns, que relutam em aceitar a liderança de Tércio.
